There is a reason this game sucks to you and yet your kid still loves it. Its a good lesson in designing a game of any type.
If you’ve ever decided to create a game of any kind, odds are you’ve realized something about it. The idea is easy, the concept isn’t extremely hard, but the designing can be painful. The Game Inventor’s Guidebook by Brian Tinsman is a great inexpensive start on your way to unlocking the path to creating a great game.
Also, take a step beyond that and find out how to see it. Many people think that just having a great product will bring in the money. It’s true your product must be good to sell, but unfortunately it won’t sell itself.
You can try it on your own, by trial and error, which is time consuming and can be costly, or you could search around the internet for free information, which can help, but also takes time and you must determine how reliable the source really is.
Then again, you could just buy a book on it and take advise from someone who has been there, and paid the trial and error costs for you.
Click the link and read the reviews, this book is on my kindle in my favorites.
