The air thickened, my chest tightened and breathing slowed. This is how it is before a battle, when I can feel something is going to happen but unsure what it is, or when it will be. All I know is soon. From out of the shadows I caught a glimpse, ah yes; I should have known it would be him.

He entered through the front door, no sense in trying to be stealthy. We can almost feel one another’s presence before we even see the other’s shadow. Vando stared me down, I didn’t know why he came, but he was here, and there would be blood.
I planted my feet, Vando was a good fighter with energy, but I was equally as capable with my defense of such attacks. His first attack was simple, just a mere warning, perhaps a taunt.

I didn’t bother protecting myself; the hit wasn’t as painful as it probably looked. The energy he threw out retreated back to him with me in its grasp. I was flung across the room. The look on Vando’s face suggested he hadn’t expected me to land on my feet.

Even in his state of surprise Vando was still ready for the strike.

He started to retreat, probably to start throwing energy at me again. It was far too late for that. My feet left the ground as I sprung in his direction.

He sprawled across the ground. I took advantage of the situation.

Vando was knocked out cold.
Another two figures darkened my door; they were here to help no doubt.
